Gauri’s interest in Hindustani Classical music was aroused by listening to her mother Dr. Vidya Damle. Who is herself a disciple of Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. Gauri’s intial Tutors were Smt. Madhuri Joshi and Pt. Gangadharbuwa Pimpalkhare.Gauri spent several years in training with Late Padmshree Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki.She has also learnt voice culture techniques from Ustaad Syeeduddin Dagar. Now, for the past several years Gauri is receiving taalim from eminent vocalist Smt. Padma Talwalkar who blended in her the Jaipur, Gwalior and Kirana Gharanas.

Gauri holds a Degree in Computer Science from the Universith of Puna and a Diploma in information Technology from NIIT but music has always been her first love. In addition to innumerous inter-collegiate and inter-university trophies she went on to Win the All India Radio music competition and currently she is graded A.I.R. music Artiste.

Awards.: Gauri has been the recipient of several trophies at the national level. - Smt. Kesarabai Kerkar fellowship for the year 1999-2000. - Smt. Yamunadevi Shahane Purskar for Classical music for the year 2002-2003. - Sitaram Dixit Purskar for light classical music given by Ganwardhan, Pune for the year 2002.

Performances: Gauri has performed solo all over India, including at the most prestigious Sawai Gandharva Punyatithi Music held in December 2003 at Pune., Solo performances in Paris, France and Brisbane and Melbourne in Australia., Live broadcast on Sydney radio., Vocal accompaniment to Smt. Padma Talwalkar on her concert tours of United, Kingdom, Switzerland and France., Vocal accompaniment to tabla maestro Pt. Suresh Talwalkar at majority of his Taalmala concerts., She has also given playback to the award winning film with Music Director Shri Anand Modak., Alurkar Music House, Pune has just released CDs and cassettes of her maiden audio venture
