Born in an illustrious family Raghunandan is a son of the celebrity Prabhakar Panshikar actor & producer. Influenced by father and a background of classical music in the family he took to music as fish to water. His initial music training began at a tender age under the able tutelage of late Pt. Vasantrao Kulkarni in Mumbai. He was fortunate to learn from Late Gan Tapaswini Smt. Mogubai Kurdikar, Mother and Guru of kishoritai and under the doyen of Gaan Saraswati Smt.Kishori Amonkar

Raghunandan tried to imbibe the last and accomplish the style of Jaipur gharana, and made himself worthy of becoming Kishoritai’s disciple for 17 years, This helped to present his musical skills with perfection and also achieve the various aspects of Jaipur style. A full throated alaap, the dazzling display of taans, pinpointed use of meend and gamak and a clever grasp of the intricacies of layakari.etc. He also developed and cultivated a linking for thumri, ghazal ,bhajans and abhangs

Raghunandan has enthralled the audiences by his magical performances in prestigious music festivals in many cities of the country. He has a discerning audiences to, as he can perform classical as well as light classical with equal finesse, showing the nuances of the Jaipur Gharana. He has performed in Mumbai, Pune, Calcutta, Banaras etc.. “Dattopant Deshpande Puraskar” Pune and the ‘Sangeet Kala Ratna Puraskar’ in Patna, Manik Verma puraskar are awards conferred to him in his musical career.

Reputed companies like the HMV Mumbai and Alurkar Music House Pune have released several cassettes and CD’s in pure classical. Bhajanjali’,’Palakhichya Sange’,"Garbham Dehi" ‘Nava-Graha Puja’ are the other CDs released in various subjects. He had an opportunity to sing for film ‘Drishti’, a film by Govind Nihalani, whose music was composed by Smt. Kishori Amonkar. A chance to travel abroad on a musical tour with his Guru-Kishoritai-to Dubai, London, Paris and the US been noteworthy.
